Medusa Packers

Leak-Away Medusa Packers incorporate a flexible rubber cap at one end, allowing them to be inserted closer to the pipe edge on T-connection repairs; they can also be easier to insert into collapsed pipes and can be use to seal blind holes.

Medusa packers are available for pipe diameters 70 - 200mm and in lengths up to 2m.

Advantages

Repair closer to pipe junctions - The metal end cap of conventional packers limits how close the repair patch can be to pipe junctions, the rubber end of the medusa packer allows the repair patch to sit much closer to the junction.

Longer Contact Area - Medusa packers offer longer repair lengths for a given packer length.

‘Blind’ Repairs - Can be used for to seal ‘blind’ holes.

Care

Packers should be stored flat and away from direct sunlight. The storage temperature should ideally be between +5° and +25°C (41 to 77°F).

Packers should always be stored horizontally or hung vertically from eye-bolts to protect the inflation connectors and eye-bolts against mechanical and abrasion damage. For shipping, packers may be folded or have the air sucked out of them, but as soon as they are received they should be unpacked, laid flat and allowed to ‘re-inflate’ back to atmospheric pressure.
